Who is responsible for your data
The registered company that operates Knives Reviewed is the data controller. Its verified legal name, registered address, jurisdiction, and dedicated privacy contact are mandatory production-release details and are not represented by invented information on this staging build. Until those details are supplied, privacy requests can be submitted through the Contact page.
Data we process
- Consent choices: a random receipt ID, policy version, permitted categories, timestamp, and regional decision. The receipt does not contain a raw IP address or full user agent.
- Analytics data: when permitted, Google Analytics 4 receives device, page, referral, and interaction information, including consented affiliate-click events. Knives Reviewed does not enable Google advertising storage or personalization.
- Contact data: information you voluntarily send, such as your name, email address, message, and supporting correction evidence.
- Security and server logs: the hosting and network providers may temporarily process IP addresses, request paths, timestamps, and technical data to deliver and protect the site.
- 404 statistics: the site aggregates the requested path, hit count, and first/last occurrence for 30 days. It does not store an IP address or complete user agent in this log.
Purposes and lawful bases
Optional analytics and external media are based on consent where consent is required, and can be withdrawn at any time. Necessary consent storage, site delivery, security, fraud prevention, and limited diagnostic logging support the controller’s legitimate interests and legal obligations. Contact messages are processed to answer the request and, where relevant, to take steps requested before entering an agreement.
Recipients and processors
Data may be processed by the site’s hosting provider and Cloudflare for delivery and security; Google for consented Analytics and YouTube playback; and professional advisers or authorities where legally required. Amazon or another retailer receives information only after you choose to visit its site. Each third party operates under its own terms and privacy notice where it acts as an independent controller.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside your country. Where required, the controller and its processors must use an approved transfer mechanism and applicable safeguards. Final processor contracts and transfer documentation are production-release requirements.
Retention
The consent cookie lasts 180 days and the corresponding pseudonymous receipt is retained for 13 months. Aggregated 404 records are retained for 30 days. Google Analytics cookies may last up to two years unless consent is withdrawn sooner. Contact messages and security logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the request, security purpose, or a legal obligation.
Your choices and rights
You can reopen Cookie Preferences to reject or withdraw optional consent. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to the competent data-protection authority where you live or work. Submit a request through the Contact page; identity may need to be verified before personal data is disclosed.
Children and external sites
The site is intended for a general adult audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. External websites, including retailers and video providers, control their own privacy practices.
